Review - Higher Nature Bath Salts

Higher Nature - Alka Bathe

Alkalise your body with new Alka - Bathe Bath Salts.

Alka-Bathe provides alkalising minerals (Potassium, Sodium bicarbonate and Silicon dioxide) for a complete detox. Cleansing and detoxifying the skin by drawing out acid waste products, it is also relaxing and soothing - comparable to a hot spring spa. Only two tablespoons are needed per bath. For a full detox programme use in conjunction with Alka-Clear capsules or powder.

Alkalising mineral bath salts
Cleanses and detoxifies
Relaxes and soothes
Perfume free

The Ingredients are: Potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, silicon dioxide.

Suggested usage: Sprinkle approximately two tablespoons of Alka-Bathe under the taps as you fill the bath. Re-cap immediately. Soak for at least 15 minutes, gently rubbing your body with a washcloth or loofah to facilitate the cleansing action. Preferably, do not wash your hair when using Alka-Bathe. After bathing, dry off and rest for 5-10 minutes.

I have been using my Alka Bathe Salts once a week over the last month. I must be honest and say I didn't really notice anything spectacular but I guess I did feel a little more refreshed and relaxed afterwards. I don't get much me time being a busy mum of 3 so bath times are a real treat for me. I will continue too use my Salts and maybe I will see a more long term effect. I'm happy to use them as they make me feel like I'm having a little bit of spa detoxing but in the comfort of my own home.

Higher Nature are a supplier of Vitamins and Organic Foods. Why not check them out for yourself.

I was sent a 650g clip-top Kilner jar for free for the purpose of this review. All my opinions are my own and I was not asked to say any of it.

Review - Bobux Children's Shoes

Bobux Children's Shoes

The original baby & toddler footwear that combines nature with nurture. From birth to three, little feet undergo an enormous amount of change. Whether crawling, toddling or walking, a a child's footwear needs to support healthy, natural development.

Bobux is a leading New Zealand innovator in children's footwear. They draw on both science and working with globally renowned specialists and natural health researchers to create eco-friendly footwear that allows unrestricted development as babies and toddlers grow.

Bobux offer three ranges of footwear based around the philosophy that children do better when they're comfortable, happy and free to develop as nature intended. Each shoe is designed to support key stages of a child's development from crawling to walking.

The shoes are so cute too!

Ryan was sent his very own pair of gorgeous Bobux shoes for the purpose of this review. We chose the lovely i-walk navy sports shoe which retail at £29.99.  I was very pleased with them. First of all they arrived in a lovely box which came in a very sweet gift bag.

The shoes are gorgeous. Very stylish and great quality. You can smell the new leather when you open the box, which I loved. I made the mistake of ordering a size too big for Ryan but that's OK as he will soon grow into them and I can't wait to put them on him. They really are a lovely looking pair of shoes. There are so many lovely styles too choose from on their site. Trendy boys and beautiful girls shoes, there really is something for everyone.

There will be a fantastic Competition coming real soon to my Blog where you will be able to win your very own pair of Bobux shoes for your child. The Spring/Summer range is coming soon and as soon as it does. The competition will go live, so please keep your eyes peeled for when it does. You won't wanna miss this competition.

Schwartz Recipe Inspirations Kits

Schwartz Recipe Inspirations Kits

Schwartz have just launched their brand new Recipe Inspirations Kit range to inject some inspiration into home cooking across the UK.  Each kit contains pre-measured pots of herbs and spices and a collectible recipe card designed to help you create delicious meals that you and your family will love. If you like the recipes make sure you keep the recipe cards so you can recreate them time and time again using our jars of herbs and spices. Recipe Inspirations Kits are available to buy from Schwartz and the Herbs and Spices fixture in your local supermarket.

I was kindly sent some samples of this yummy new range to try out for myself. As you all might know, I'm not exactly the worlds best cook so I did ask my Mum for a little help with this one. We made the Beef & Beer Stew with Herb Dumplings. We followed the recipe but did use Guinness instead of Beer. It was very easy to do and so simple to use. With pre measured amounts you just add them one by one as and when told. Even I managed it. It turned out really nice, so nice in fact that my family had actually eaten most of it before I remembered to take my perfect picture. Oops, so I do apologise about the picture but least you can see how yummy it looked.

We had made quite a lot so also decided to use the stewed beef to use in a Pie we made too. It was delicious! It wasn't what we were supposed to be making but with a little imagination it goes to show that these kits can be used to make your very own creations too. Well, if you're feeling brave enough. Wanna see?

There are 4 delicious Recipe Inspirations Kits too choose from:

Tray baked Piri Piri Chicken
Beef & Beer Stew with Herb Dumplings
Creamy Pan Fried Pork with Apple & Sage
Rosemary Roasted Chicken and Potatoes

Each looks delicious and so easy to make. Which one would you try first? At a great price of just £1.99 per pack, why not try them all.

Have yourself a Belvita Breakfast

Belvita Breakfast

Us mums are always on the go and always in a rush. Are you like me and forget to have your own breakfast? Mornings are such a rush here in my house. By the time I have fed my three their breakfast there's never much time left for my own. I was told about a new Breakfast idea from Belvita which I was interested to try. They have made a range of biscuits specially designed for breakfast times. Belvita is a range of biscuits specially designed for breakfast. Made with wholegrain, rich in cereals, a source of fibre and containing a selection of vitamins and minerals, these delicious crunchy biscuits have been scientifically proven to slowly release carbohydrates over 4 hours. Belvita Breakfast gives you energy for the whole morning. There's 8 delicious flavours to choose from:

Forest Fruits
Muesli
Fruit & Fibre
Crunchy Oats
Honey & Nut
Milk & Cereals
Creamy Live Yogurt Filling
Honey & Live Yogurt Filling

I was sent a sample of the Honey & Live Yogurt Filling Biscuits to try for myself. I do like biscuits but I don't usually eat many and I'm not a fan of yogurts. I never eat those. I was a little wary but I'll try anything once. The packs come individually wrapped with 2 biscuits in each. Just enough for one portion on the go. I must admit I quite liked them. I would have liked them even more if I'd had the whole packet to myself but my little man had other ideas and wanted half. The biscuits were very yummy, nice and crunchy too. The yogurt filling was actually quite nice too. Not too sweet but just a nice added flavour and creamy texture to the taste. My little man Ryan enjoyed his too.

Belvita Breakfast Biscuits are delicious. They're a great way to start the day and really do fill you up enough until lunch time. I think I may have to eat these more often now. I think I'm going to try the Honey & Nut next time. I think I may have found the answer to my breakfast worries. No more missing breakfast for this mummy. I will be popping one of these into my bag every morning ready for my breakfast on the move.

Mummy Of 3 Diaries gave Belvita Breakfast a fab 5/5 for great taste, handy sized packs and yummy flavours.

SNUGGLE UP AND ENJOY A HAPPY, HEALTHY WINTER

Winter is upon us and the inevitable coughs and colds have begun to do the rounds! Keeping our little ones wrapped up warmly will help to keep coughs and colds at bay (it seems our mother’s were right about that!) but with children catching an average of eight or more colds every year it’s best to be prepared.
Coughs and colds often go hand in hand as coughs can develop when mucus trickles down the back of the throat causing irritation and coughing. Coughs can cause little ones real discomfort, especially when sleep is disturbed and this can be tough for both children and Mums and Dads!
Nelson’s Sootha can help bring gentle relief to coughs. It contains the 6c homeopathic potency of natural Bryonia, in a honey rich formula and zesty lemon juice base – ingredients to help bring gentle relief to coughs. Nelson’s Sootha Cough Syrup is free of artificial colourings and flavourings, does not cause drowsiness and is suitable for children aged 12 months onwards. Always read the label
Nelson’s Sootha is giving away a £30 Mother care Voucher to help keep your little ones stay extra cosy this winter with some warm clothing.

Disney’s Club Penguin Launches UK Magazine

Disney’s Club Penguin Launches UK Magazine

Disney’s Club Penguin has launched its first official magazine: Disney Club Penguin Magazine. Hitting newsstands across the UK and Ireland, from Thursday 9th February, the new magazine will give kids another way to engage with Club Penguin. The four-weekly magazine will feature richly-illustrated comic stories, fact files, puzzles and activities themed on popular in-world games and events. As with all Club Penguin toys, books, video games and apps, the magazine will connect to the virtual world through secret codes that allow kids to earn coins and unlock exclusive items offering a truly integrated entertainment experience.

Lucy Woodward, director of Disney Online Studios for The Walt Disney Company EMEA, explains: “Safety, great content and engaging gameplay drives everything we do and this new magazine will deliver children the same quality of experiences they demand in our virtual world. The two are also connected in order to ensure complete continuity."

“In the same way we reward our players online with coins when they complete challenges and quests, kids solving puzzles in the magazine will earn coins they can use to credit their online account. Kids playing our Nintendo DS game, Herbert‘s Revenge, or collecting trading cards, can discover codes that allow them to unlock special items in-world. This kind of connectivity can also be seen with our books, plush and apps and is really important in staying true to the quality of entertainment, narrative and mythology of Club Penguin outside of the virtual world.“

Disney Club Penguin Magazine, published by Panini UK, is launching exclusively in the UK and Ireland. Each issue will include two secret codes that unlock exclusive items online for use in-world and will be available in all major retail outlets priced at £2.99.

Launched in October 2005, Club Penguin has seen more than 150 million registered users pass through the site. With its imaginative play environment, word filtering technology and live moderation, award-winning Club Penguin has built a solid reputation as a safe and secure online destination that provides fun for kids and peace of mind for parents.

My girls loved the new Disney Club Penguin Magazine. Chloe loved reading the comic strips whilst Lily loved the doing the puzzles. It's nice and bright and the pages are packed with fun filled things to do. If your children are a fan of Club Penguin then this is definitely one for them.

I was sent this magazine for free for the purpose of this review but all the opinions posted are my own.

Sunday Afternoon Baking With Half Spoon

Healthy Baking Challenge

The blogger challenge - I was to be given one of several recipes to try at home and Blog my experience about trying some healthy baking.half spoon.jpeg
The reason the recipes are low in calories is because they use sugar called Half Spoon from our friends at Silver Spoon. Half Spoon is granulated sugar with a touch of sweetener; it’s twice as sweet so you only need half as much as regular sugar. Half Spoon is great for low calorie baking as you can still get the taste and texture that regular sugar brings, but with less of the calories.

I chose the lovely looking Fruity Butterfly Cakes which we attempted today. My Lily is a Pro Baker in my house so this was a perfect Sunday afternoon activity for us to do.

We followed the Recipe mostly but did make a few small changes, we actually forget to buy the berries ( oops ) so we had to improvise. Baking is always good fun though, here's how ours turned out.

If you'd like some Healthy Baking Inspiration , check out Baking Mad and see what Recipes you might like to try out.

Baking Mad supplied our ingredients for this post ( Our flour and sugar ) But all the love that was put into them was our own.

A Guest Post - How much do we really appreciate our Mums?

How much do we really appreciate our Mums?

Mum – we’ll always have her support whatever we do. And it’s her love and encouragement that has made us what we are today, but how much do we truly appreciate our Mums?
Experience gift company Buaygift have carried out a survey of just over 500 mums from the UK to find out whether they feel valued, and whether in their eyes, they receive the recognition that they deserve for running around after us.
Interestingly, only a quarter (25%) of the mums surveyed said that they feel 100% appreciated by their children in comparison with 18.1% who said that they never feel appreciated for running around after their kids.
More positively, 55.5% of mums feel that they are generally given due credit for the things they do to support their family.
And the same study also found that just 48.8% of mums regularly get the opportunity to pamper themselves – a hint for this Mother’s Day, surely, because 38.8% said that their ideal days out include spa days.
In addition to this, 40.3% of the survey also communicated that they very rarely get time away from being a Mum. Perhaps treat her to any of the fantastic days out in London or tea for two experiences in the countryside? But whatever it is that you choose to do, make sure your mum has a great Mother’s Day 2012!

Inspiration Works - Disney Princess Magical Secret Book

Disney Princess Magical Secret Book

This is the Disney Princess Magical Secret Book by Inspiration Works.  It's bright pink and covered in Disney Princesses. My little girl loves it. She's a huge fan of everything pink, bless her. Lily is only 4 but loves tho draw and write. This is perfect for her. It's a hard cased diary type toy consisting of an activity book with a "Magic" Invisible ink pen and a Magic light. Its a very cute idea. I've seen this sort of toy before but they're normally aimed at much older children. It's nice to see a more basic one aimed at the younger ones.

Lily's not an expert at colouring yet so this invisible pen idea is great. She colours in her pictures and then half an hour later the ink is gone. Well until you shine your Magic light over it and then you can see it all over again. The book has lots of great Disney pictures to colour in and lots of fun puzzles and activities too.

There's even activities that them with their learning. The number activities were fun but also very educational. Lily quite enjoyed doing them, I don't think she even realised she was learning at the same time as playing.

Lily's favourite part of this toy was the bracelet that came with it. There is also a selection of little charms that are attached to the front of the diary but can be moved and added to her bracelet. She really loves it and I think it was a nice added touch.

Overall Lily and I gave the " Disney Princess Magical Secret Book " a well deserved 5 out of 5. It's a nice little toy that not only looks good but helps your child learn as well as play. I'm sure any little girl would love one of these. Lily enjoys playing with hers and think she will for a while to come. She's even started hiding her own little drawings in her secret diary now too.
